Dream Scape . Collaboration With Saori Kanda 2009~2010
In my “Dreamscape”” series , my sets access a child’s imagination andcomplex dream sequence. In one image, a hand is manipulated, bound by strings. The hand mimics the false posture of a bonsai tree, which takes form after years of care to create the perfect composition. Also, in this series, female figures are fragmented or dismembered in a volatile space. This confrontation suggests the viewer experiences a loss of equilibrium, while the dripping environments are difficult to discern as interior, exterior, or otherworldly.
